OUR LATEST STORIES & NEWS

If you’re like most small businesses, a big percentage of your marketing budget is devoted to e-marketing. And that’s important just to stay competitive in today’s internet environment. However, for practices that deal with a number of patients and clients who don’t use email, traditional marketing methods should not be neglected.

Market to Your Customer Base

The first rule of any marketing strategy is: Know your audience! You know your customer base and certain groups such as the elderly, those with language barriers and those without regular and reliable access to the internet will not be reachable via your electronic marketing efforts.

Direct Mail Campaigns

When sending out emails, whether a one-time e-blast on a timely topic or a series of educational email marketing campaigns be sure to provide hardcopies for those without email. Your email generation process should kick out a message alerting you that certain customers don’t have email addresses. You can then send them paper copies of the same material.

The same holds true with holiday and birthday e-cards: take the time to send a paper greeting and your customers will remember you.

Be Visible in Your Community

Getting out into your local community is valuable for visibility and personal interactions. Attend conferences and host lunch-and-learn information sessions. Sponsor charitable events. Make these events pay off by handing out your business cards and collecting email addresses if possible. These efforts may cost a little more than online marketing but the value of face-to-face contact is priceless.

By the way, in-person appearances are great opportunities to capture photos that can enhance your social media presence – a neat way to link your online and offline marketing efforts.

Be Present in Print

You may pay a little more, but putting something physical in a prospective customer’s hand has positive impact. Use flyers, informational brochures and posters to attract new patients and clients. Show prospects that you’re available locally with a billboard advertisement. You will reinforce that you’re a real business in the real world.
