Website

It’s a fact – there are design missteps that may be causing your visitors to leave your website without converting into paying customers. While some of these reasons may seem obvious, there may be one or two you haven’t considered.

You’re using gimmicky marketing tactics.

You’ve no doubt visited a website only to be barraged by an intrusive design that constantly tries to make you click on something. Sure, you should offer your visitors something, but don’t try to force them by way of gimmicky tactics. Try putting yourself in your visitors’ shoes and avoid all design features that could annoy them.

You’re utilizing boring stock images.

I’m sure you’ve seen the same uninteresting stock images used in websites throughout the internet. If creating your own high-quality photos for your site isn’t always possible, that’s okay. But do some research when using stock photos. Ask yourself if the images you are using say what you want them to say and are relevant to your business.

You lack a variety of CTAs.

Your sales funnel needs appealing and plentiful calls to action (CTAs). CTAs are often merged with forms to capture more detailed information, so you can generate value and turn prospects into strong leads that are ready to communicate with your sales team.

Your site is not mobile-friendly.

Mobile website traffic has increased by an astounding 220%+ in the past five years. That number proves how important it is that your site looks good on these devices. The good news is, there are several online tools to help examine your responsive design, such as Chrome’s Inspect tool.

You aren’t properly guiding users through your funnel.

You need to ensure that your website leads visitors through your marketing funnel properly. This means knowing that some users are at the beginning of their problem-solving investigation, and some are ready to make a decision. In the best-case scenario, your website will support your marketing objectives by creating a smooth flow from generating leads to converting them.

You’re not offering educational resources.

Consider that in many cases your website visitors aren’t ready to speak to anyone regarding what you have to offer – they just want information. Adding an “Education” or “Resources” page to your navigation menu allows you do that for them. Educate visitors regarding everything you have to offer them and how it can benefit them.

Your navigation menus are disorganized.

Another problem for optimizing your conversion rate is navigation menus that are difficult to decipher. ALL visitors want to locate what they’re looking for quickly. In fact, most visitors will leave your site within 10-20 seconds if they don’t find what they want, so they better be able to find it fast.
