Google Ads

Google is known for its algorithms and for trying to keep things fair among its users. But as a business fighting for rankings, everything is not fair in a digital war. So, it’s important to rank higher in online searches to see your product, service, and content.

Today, we’re sharing some creative strategies to elevate yourself above the crowd by utilizing less conventional methods on Google.

  1. Leverage typos. You can bid on potential misspellings of a product or brand to seize the attention of people who are entering typos in their search. Research free tools that let you enter keywords to create a list of the most common typos.
  1. Try to go viral. Your Google ads don’t have to be boring – get creative and create ads that can go viral. Use either longer tail or hyper-targeted keywords that are experiencing less search volume. A video is also an effective tool for Google ads, so be sure you add this into your content marketing mix.
  1. Create relevant landing pages. It’s common for users to click from an ad to a landing page with no idea how the content relates to what they clicked on! So, make sure your landing pages are pertinent to your advertising content.
  1. Go for the top of the funnel. Most people bidding on keywords search for words that focus on buyer intent. These keywords can also be more costly, but you can use them to get people to visit your site even though they probably won’t buy right away.
  1. Utilize geotargeting. Consider targeting precise locations to make your paid Google ads more targeted and effective. With geotargeting, you can spend your budget where your customers are.
  1. Don’t stop using organic SEO. You must uphold a strong SEO strategy to get organic rankings by utilizing high-quality content. You also need to select the right keywords to help you climb the rankings. Working together with your PPC ads, you can gain momentum as Google begins to see value in the content you provide between your ads and organic content.
  1. Utilize ad extensions. These Google ad extensions can help you to provide more information for your text ads. In searches, they appear directly below your description at no additional cost. Many marketers ignore these extensions, but they’re worth using because they can take your ads to the next level.
