OUR LATEST STORIES & NEWS

resolution

While no one could foresee what 2020 would bring, now is a good time to think back on last year and plan for the year that is now upon us. And whether you reached your 2020 goals, it’s time to get back in the game and prepare for a prosperous 2021.

Today we’re sharing our top 5 New Year’s resolutions for small businesses!

  1. Produce realistic organizational practices. The key to any good organizational system is to generate realistic practices. Many business owners get swept up in the excitement of starting a fresh new year, but for an organizational process to really be viable, it needs to be realistic. Closely examine what did and didn’t work for you and your staff in 2020 and use your discoveries to update your practices for 2021.
  2. Revise your overall business plan. A solid business plan is vital to your success, but it isn’t meant to be a one-and-done document. Now is a great time to reexamine your business plan and revise it with the latest competitor research, marketing ideas, research, goals, and more so your business will continue to flourish in 2021.
  3. Freshen up your marketing plan. Identify which marketing efforts helped your business most in 2020, and which didn’t, and then update your marketing plan using that knowledge and insight. Feel free to add new strategies to help determine how your marketing budget should be spent in 2021 so you get the biggest return on your investment.
  4. Seek out opportunities to automate. Technology surely makes our lives easier, but are you using it to its full potential? There is software that can automate processes such as  managing inventory, customer service, invoicing, sales, bookkeeping, and more so you no longer need to worry about them. This will decrease the chance of manual errors and free up time for you and your staff to tackle other important tasks.
  5. Make company culture a priority. Having a solid company culture that makes employees feel respected and appreciated is a great way to boost employee loyalty and engagement. Survey your staff regarding what changes they would like to see then work toward developing a culture that reflects your business’s values and makes the needs of your staff a priority.

We hope that these resolutions and business tips for the new year have inspired you.
