Google My Business provides businesses with a great chance to appear in Google search results, and the greatest thing about it is that it’s free!
GMB lets you list your business location on Google Maps and local search results. You can include important information about your company, including operating hours, contact phone number, and/or a link to your website. Google has also released a new feature that allows you to post a link to articles or upcoming events.
Follow these Google My Business management tips!
Boost your company’s local search visibility. Creating your listing is one of the easiest and most effective ways of helping your company’s visibility online. More and more search inquiries are geographically specific.
Optimize your listing. After you’ve created your page and completed all the important information, the next step is to optimize it. When people perform their search and see your business in the results, they’ll click on the business to find out more information like directions and contact information. The way people search is changing, so information needs to be accurate and instantaneous.
Get your business description right. Write a good description to add to your listing that is relevant to the user. This description will be used as an overview of what your company does, and it should include keywords related to your business.
Add posts to your listing. Attract more interest by adding posts to your listing. You can now add up to 10 photos or videos to Google. These posts will help tell a story about your business.
Add images regularly. Post images as much as you can to show Google that you’re active and it will favor you when it comes to local search results.
Gather reviews. Reviews act as real-world signs of what people really think about a business and they are key when it comes to ranking in local search. They also act as social proof to your prospects and help them decide whether to do business with you or not. The best way to collect reviews is to simply request them.
Respond to the reviews you collect. Whether good or bad, be sure to respond to all reviews. Acknowledge and thank customers who leave a good review and reach out to bad reviews to rectify their issue.
If you have not taken the time to create and optimize your Google My Business listing, you’re missing out on one of the best free ways to rank in Google search results.
