Social Media Influencers – The Animals Have It

social media influencers

Here is our latest “smippet” – social media snippet – on clever uses of social media posts that will get results.

Pet Influencers and Their Owners

You know that you do it – play that adorable Facebook posting of the cat attacking the huge dog and chasing it down the stairs. And you watch it over and over and then share it too.

A social media influencer is a user who has established credibility in an industry. This person, with access to a large audience, can persuade others because of their reach and their authenticity.

But wait – animals can be social media influencers too!

Some of these canines, felines and even amphibians are getting famous and also making some money for their owners. Take Toby the toad from Williston, Florida. His owner Savannah found him and thought a photo of him on a couch would be fun to post on Instagram. Toby was an overnight hit with 75,000 followers and now lives in a dollhouse while entertaining his followers

It wasn’t long before The Dog Agency, a management firm that focuses exclusively on animal influencers, contacted Savannah and signed Toby on as a pet influencer.

Pet influencers can make significant money by collaborating with brands to make sponsored content. As an example, an animal influencer with 100,000 followers can make $1,000 – $2,000 per sponsored post!

Of course, humans are the brains and the creativity behind Toby’s success and that of other animal influencers. The Dog Agency credits Savannah with creating a unique voice for Toby with consistent content that can be a case study on how to be a social media influencer.

Lesson learned: Can a social media influencer – animal or human – help you market your practice? Do you have a client or patient with large numbers of social media followers who can support your brand? For example, a local coach or team with an active social media site can endorse your podiatrist practice and therefore introduce you to their followers. Just be sure that the endorsement is truthful and organic – not a hard sell.
